The Initial Consultation- 60 mins

1) Where the Pain is Coming from/ What the Injury is.

We listen to you explain how the injury or pain started. We listen to the detail and history of the condition. This gives us an idea of what may be injured.

We then use traditional Physio/Sports Therapy assessments to confirm our initial thoughts and look for some causes of the injury.

We more often than not find that the reason for the pain is due to other areas of the body not doing their job properly. Rather than just focusing on the area of pain, in our experience we find it is more important to look at the whole body and how that maybe causing the painful area to overwork and become painful. This is what we look for in the second section of the Consultation.

2) Identify the causes of this Pain/Injury

We look to identify what the possible causes of the pain or injury were/are. This is an important part of the assessment process and will frame the Rehabilitation plan.

This is not fitness testing. This is simply just looking at whether all the joints are doing their work. SWhether all the muscles are strong enough to handle the load of your activities/sport.

We will also discuss any changes in your training, any previous injuries, your footwear and lastly and very importantly your Recovery State (sleep, breathing, stress)

3) Explain the pain/injury and give you an action plan.

We understand the importance of fully understanding where the pain is coming from, what the causes are and how we can help you feel better, move better and perform better.

We spend time discussing this with you and answering any. questions you may have regarding the injury.

We will then give you something to work on

a) The area of pain or injury

b) Things to work on which will help correct the possible causes of the pain and/or injury.

C) Things to do so you can maintain your training/fitness which will not aggravate the injury
